Why did the levels change?

Everyone’s family looks different. After receiving community feedback, we are removing restrictions that hinder you from bringing your loved ones. Now you can bring a group consisting of friends, family, neighbors, or anyone your heart desires! 

Why are there fewer levels now?

It’s just simpler! Instead of nine options to choose from, we’ve simplified our program into three
amazing options with add-on opportunities. Less time choosing, more time exploring!

What is the Explore More Add-On?

The Explore More Add-On unlocks a world of perks. For only $50 you gain benefits like free daily dome shows, higher discounts, early registration opportunities, access to North American Reciprocal Museum institutions, and even a behind-the-scenes tour with our executive directors! You can upgrade your membership to include the Explore More Add-On at any time.   

What is the Give More Add-On?

The Give More Add-On is one-time or recurring donation that you can add to your membership. The Give More Add-On is a way for you to give an amount to the museum that is meaningful to you, because all our members are contributors! As a donor, your donation to the museum is tax-deductible. You will receive correspondence from us at the end of the year with all the relevant information you need to file your taxes. 

How do I sign up for the quarterly meet and greet/behind the scenes tours with the directors?

Members with the Explore More Add-On benefit will receive an email with a registration link before the event.   

What happens to my current membership?

As of January 31st, 2024, our previous membership pricing structures will no longer be available. If you have a current membership your current membership and benefits will stay the same until you are due for renewal.

I’m signed up for a membership through the Early Childhood Program in Poudre School District or Thompson School District- what happens to my membership?

We will continue to offer free memberships to families with children actively enrolled in the Early Childhood Program of PSD and TSD. When your membership expires, you can choose to renew at Explore 2, Explore 5, or Explore 8. If you are interested in upgrading your membership with the Explore More Add-On, you can do so for $50. My work/my spouse’s work will match a membership with a donation, how does that work?

Please contact the Development department at development@fcmod.org for all inquiries related to charitable giving. 

What happened to contributing memberships?

If you would like to support our mission with a monetary donation, you can do so by selecting our Give More Add-On. This allows you to donate an amount that feels significant to you. If you were previously a contributing member, here is a breakdown of what add-on you should choose to roughly equate to the previous level of giving:  

  • Innovator level = $8.00 / month or $91.00 / year
  • Trailblazer level = $28.00 / month or $341.00 / year
  • Champion level = $70.00 / month or $841.00 / year

Who can access free Dome shows?

In 2024, current Family Plus and Contributing Level Members, as well as “Explore More” Members.  

What’s included with free Dome shows?

Daily Dome shows and Weekend Music Dome shows.  

Are there any dome events that are not included?

General FAQs:

Can I give my membership card to someone else to use?

Your membership covers entry for the number of people associated with your level. Your group can be comprised of anyone you love—family and friends alike! Visitors may be asked to confirm member information to verify active membership.

I heard there is a membership deal with The Gardens on Spring Creek?

Yes! Active Members at either organization can join the other at a 10% discount and, if you maintain active member status with both organizations, you can renew your memberships year-after-year at 10% off! You may visit either organization and show proof of membership to receive your discount! The discount applies to any level at either organization and must be purchased in-person with proof of active membership.

Can I bring guests on my membership?

Yes! Your membership covers entry for the number of people associated with your level. For example, an Explore 8 cardholder can bring in seven guests in addition to themselves.

How will my membership pay for itself?

Memberships are the best way to get the most out of your museum! All it takes is a few visits to equal the cost of a membership. One trip for two adults and two youth equals $55, and an Explore 5 level costs $135, so the cost of membership would be covered in just 2.45 trips! 

In addition to unlimited free admission for a year, your membership also includes a discount at the Museum Store and discount tickets to the OtterBox Digital Dome Theater. With a membership, there’s savings all around! 

What does my membership support?

Membership dollars provide critical, sustainable support to our ever-changing immersive exhibits, our hands-on workshops and programs, and our ongoing effort to preserve and protect Northern Colorado’s stories and heritage through our Collections and Archives.

Is my membership tax deductible?

The cost of your membership is not eligible for a tax deduction; however, if you select the Give More Add-On, the amount you choose to donate is eligible for a tax deduction. The museum’s tax ID number is 74-2541265. All donations are acknowledged; if you choose a monthly donation, you will receive a single correspondence with your total donation amount for the calendar year. Do members get a discount in The Museum Store and Café?

All members receive a 10% discount. Explore More Add-On members receive a 20% discount. 

Do I need to present my membership card to receive discounts in The Museum Store and Café?

Please present either your membership card or valid identification to receive your discount.

What should I do if I do not have my membership card with me?

If you do not have your membership card, you may check in at the museum’s Welcome Desk with valid identification. 

Digital Membership:

How will I use my digital membership card?

Every digital membership card contains information that identifies the owner which displays in the digital card itself and the benefits associated with the membership. Simply show your digital membership card to our staff at the Welcome Desk, The Museum Store, or Museum Café to take advantage of your member benefits! 

How do I receive my digital membership card?

Once your membership is processed, you will receive a unique link sent to your email which will give you access to your digital membership card without being logged in to any portal. You will receive a link for your digital membership card in which you can choose to print it, download it as a PDF or store it to your device by adding your digital card to your Apple Wallet and/or Google Pay. Alternatively, you can download your digital membership card through your membership portal under the “Membership” tab.  

Will my digital card update when I renew my membership?

Yes! The digital card will automatically update when your membership information changes. For example, your expiration date and membership level will automatically update the next time you renew or upgrade your membership. Just make sure that you store your digital membership card in your Apple Wallet or Google Pay so that it will update automatically after the renewal of your membership. 

How will my reciprocal benefits work when visiting other museums?

Reciprocity is the practice of exchanging member benefits at another participating museum or institution. Digital membership cards display the History Colorado and ASTC (Association of Science and Technology Centers) logos. Simply show your digital membership card at participating museums to receive free or reduced admission! All membership levels at FCMoD are part of the ASTC Travel Passport Program, which offers free or discounted admission to over 300 museums worldwide. Please note, this excludes museums within a 90-mile radius of each other. Therefore, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science is excluded because both of our museums fall within that radius. For more information about the ASTC Travel Passport Program please visit http://www.astc.org/passport/. 

Members with the Explore More Add-On can enjoy North American Reciprocal Museum (NARM) benefits which offers free or discounted admission, discounts in the shop, and discounts on ticketed events at over 1000 museums in North America. Please note, this agreement excludes museums within a 15-mile radius of each other (including those in the Fort Collins and Loveland area). Will my second cardholder also receive a digital membership card?

A unique link will be sent to the primary member’s email address that contains membership cards for two people which you can store in your digital wallet, save as PDF, or print. As the primary member, you can share it with another cardholder through the share feature of your digital wallet or forward the email. And if you associate two email addresses with the membership for two people, both email addresses will receive the link for their digital membership card. 

Will the recipient of the gift membership I bought receive a digital card?

Yes! They can receive a unique link as long as you provide an email address for the gift recipient wherein you can choose to print, save as a PDF or add to your digital wallet. 

I am not sure I received my digital card. Can you send it again?

You can download your digital card anytime on the membership portal under the “Membership” tab. If you need help, please contact us at 970-221-6738 and a staff member will be able to assist you. You can also email membership@fcmod.org, and we can resend the link to your digital membership card. You may also want to check the Junk, Spam, and Unwanted folders of your email. 

What if I prefer a physical membership card?

By default, all members will now receive a digital membership card sent to the email address you provide. If you prefer to receive a physical membership card instead, please contact us at 970-221-6738 and a staff member will be able to assist you, or at membership@fcmod.org. You can also indicate your preference to receive a physical membership card as you join or renew your membership. 

Can I update the email address(es) associated with my membership?

No, currently you cannot update your email address on the membership portal. If you need to update your email address, please contact us at 970-221-6738 and a staff member will be able to assist you, or membership@fcmod.org to update your information. You can update your name, phone number, and physical address in the membership portal.
