Grateful Dead 360 Music Show

Explore music in a new light in the Otterbox Digital Dome Theater! Sit back and relax as you listen to your favorite artist’s top songs and watch as colorful visuals fly across the screen.

FCMoD’s music series has something for everyone – from throwbacks of rock idols to the chart topping hits of today’s artists. The Dome’s 360° state-of-the-art digital projection systems bring these shows to life, while our booming surround sound system will have you hearing your favorite artists like never-before.

Please arrive early. The show will start at 2 p.m.

Runtime: 60 minutes.

Join us in the Natural Areas Exhibit to learn about the conservation work being done to return black-footed ferrets to the wild, from the national captive breeding program to new advances in cloning. Meet our black-footed ferrets and watch as our furry friends tear into their weekend meal. Who knows, you just might become BFFs with our BFFs!

The presentation will start at about 10:15 a.m.

Museum admission is not required to attend this program, but the capacity is limited and first-come, first-served.

Snacktivities: Cheerio Donuts

Looking for a fun, healthy way to get your kids in the kitchen? Snacktivities has you covered! Our teaching kitchen offers unique recipes like healthy apple nachos and cheerio doughnuts that are not only delicious, but fun to make, too! With our hands-on approach, your children will learn basic cooking skills while also learning how to make healthy snacks they’ll love. Plus, our program promotes healthy eating habits for life. Give your child the gift of culinary education and tasty treats. Sign up for Snacktivities today! 

Your child will learn to construct a box out of cardstock. From there, they will follow simple instructions to customize their cheerios into donuts. 

This event costs $5 per child 3 and up. Accompanying adults and children 2 and under are free.

Summer Storytime @ FCMoD: Curiosity’s Discovery

Join us in The OtterBox Digital Dome Theater this summer for an immersive story time experience like no other! Kids can explore and discover with just the turn of the page in a different book every 1st and 3rd Wednesday, June through August.

7/5 Curiosity’s Discovery Curiosity, the robot rover, has searched Mars for signs of life for years. When she hears unusual sounds, she zooms off to discover the source. She must figure out the strange code and find the sender before the transmission disappears forever. 

After exploring Mars with Curiosity, you can stop by The Museum Store for a book signing with local author, Nancy Derey Riley
