We’re calling on local photographers of all ages to get out in the field and give us your best shot!
As part of our current special exhibition, Nature All Around Us, we’ll be hosting a nature photography contest.
The Nature Photographers All Around Us Photo Contest celebrates the rich biodiversity of our area and the amazing camera skills of our community. We’ve structured this friendly competition to reflect the five areas of focus in the exhibition:
Yards & Gardens
Urban Forests
Parks & Open Spaces
Rivers & Streams
Main Street
Using these locations as inspiration, we encourage you to submit up to five photos for any or all categories. We’ll run three brackets for each category – one for youth aged 12 and under, one for teens 13-19 years old and one for adults aged 20 plus. Our panel of community judges will select 15 finalists whose photos will join the exhibition for display in the museum gallery through the final month of the installation.
OUR 15 WINNERS WILL EACH RECEIVE A YEAR-LONG MUSEUM MEMBERSHIP! CURRENT MEMBERS WILL RECEIVE AN ADDITIONAL FREE YEAR.
FCMOD WILL PRINT AND MOUNT THE TOP 15 WINNING ENTRIES FOR DISPLAY ON THE GALLERY WALLS AND HOST AN OPENING CELEBRATION ON AUGUST 1st.
ALL QUALIFYING ENTRIES WILL BE SHARED THROUGH DIGITAL DISPLAY ON SCREENS THROUGHOUT THE MUSEUM FOR THE FINAL MONTH OF THE SHOW.
Nature, the great outdoors, fun, prizes and a chance to become part of the Nature All Around Us exhibition! Let’s Goooooo…

PRO TIPS: Wild birds, animals, flowers, trees, bushes and bees are all in play – Sir-Barks-a-Lot and Mr. Whiskers are not (i.e. no domestics). Stay safe – no picture is worth your health and nature can be a powerful thing! Be sure to identify where you captured your image, the date and time and what kind of plant or animal we’re celebrating in your image. Have fun!
Let’s get snappin’!
