Ferret Feeding
Visit with FCMoD’s very own live black-footed ferrets, the most endangered mammal in North America!
Join us in the Natural Areas Exhibit to learn about the conservation work being done to return black-footed ferrets to the wild, from the national captive breeding program to new advances in cloning. Meet our black-footed ferrets and watch as our furry friends tear into their weekend meal. Who knows, you just might become BFFs with our BFFs!
Museum admission is not required to attend this program, but the capacity is limited and first-come, first-served.
Earth Matters: Rethink the future
Earth Matters invites us to reimagine a more sustainable future through hands-on and interactive exhibits. Visitors will engage in themes such as biodiversity, rising global temperatures, and carbon emissions while creating lasting perspectives about the bigger roles we play in our environments.
Earth Matters is presented by Odell Brewing Co, HP Inc., and Kaiser Permanente.
The exhibition is presented bilingually and is free with museum admission.
Visit with CSU Bug Zoo!
Get to know arachnids, insects, and arthropods when the CSU Bug Zoo visits FCMoD! CSU Bug Zoo strives to bring a deeper appreciation for arthropods through hands-on learning. See both live and mounted specimens of spiders, roaches, and other crawlies, and learn all about the great big world of bugs! Find out how to identify bugs in our local ecosystem and take your outdoor exploration to the next level. The Bug Zoo create opportunities with live insects, enthusiastic volunteers, and continued involvement in the Fort Collins community.

Join Big Bird, Elmo, and their friend, Hu Hu Zhu, for a look at the stars. Take an imaginary trip to our Moon, learn how to find the Big Dipper and North Star, and see how we all share the same sky.

Explore is the story of humanity’s fascination with the stars — from ancient stargazers and astrologers to the breakthrough discoveries of Nicolaus Copernicus and Johannes Kepler. Today’s explorers depend on Kepler’s genius for their work in space. Enjoy a beautifully visualized trip through the history of astronomy.

Tom Cech in the OtterBox Digital Dome Theater
Colorado has been in the most serious drought in 1,200 years, and our growing population is stretching limited water resources. What are the impacts of Colorado water law on this unprecedented period in our state’s history?
Tom Cech will provide insight and perspective on these critical issues for the Front Range of Colorado. Cech is the recently-retired director of the One World One Water Center for Urban Water Education and Sustainability at Metropolitan State University in Denver.

Join us for a presentation of Capcom Go in Spanish!
What did it take to get humans to the surface of the Moon? What challenges did the engineers, scientists, and astronauts who worked to achieve that goal face? From award-winning producer NSC Creative comes their latest show, an immersive historical documentary that showcases the achievements of the Apollo program and what it took to put the first human on the Moon.
