Tune-Out Tuesdays

Is the daily grind getting you down? Need a reset from your hectic month? Stop by the OtterBox Digital Dome Theater over your lunch break to treat yourself to a mid-month tune-out. Enjoy a short “Sky Tonight” astronomy presentation, then sit back and relax to soothing music and stunning 360-degree visions of the cosmos in the Dome.

If you arrive after noon, it will be dark in the Dome. Pause upon entering to allow your eyes time to adjust to the darkness and a Dome operator will help you find a seat. Bring your lunch – food & drink are welcome in the Dome.

Tune-Out Tuesdays | FREE Noon Event!

Please note: this program is designed to give people a quiet time to relax, and periods of long sitting can be difficult for some little ones. It may not be suitable for young children.

Mini Makers: Cardboard Box

Imagine, invent, problem solve, and more during Mini Makers: Cardboard Box! In this program, children will engage in design thinking as they learn about reusing through a themed story time and hands-on building. There will be opportunities to try new tools and to use them in a safe and supervised environment. Once complete, each little engineer will have their very own up-cycled creation to take home!

Attention caregivers: Please bring one clean recyclable item (e.g. plastic bottle, cereal box, paper towel tube).

Mini Makers is designed especially for children 3-5 years old and their caregivers. Join us on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 1:15pm.

$5 per participating child/$4 for members – caregivers are free

Experience the Aurora

Over seven months in the Arctic Circle, our crews captured timelapse images of the Aurora Borealis with high resolution digital SLR cameras outfitted with fisheye lenses. The results are spectacular. For the first time the aurora has been captured as it was meant to be experienced, as a display that covers the entire sky. This immersive show shares the science behind the aurora and tells the story of our quest to find and photograph the aurora for wraparound display in full-dome theaters.
