Thank you for your interest in visiting FCMoD as a school group or organized group! Before making your reservation, please read through the following guidelines.

- You must have 15 or more people. If you have fewer than 15 people, we welcome you to visit the museum at any time as general visitors. - Your preferred visit date must be at least two weeks from the date you submit this form. If you are hoping for a visit date sooner than two weeks away, please contact reservations@fcmod.org. Extra charges may apply, and FCMoD cannot guarantee accommodation for your group. - Please read through our Field Trip offerings and Field Trip policies for important information about your visit before filling out this form. - Submission of this form is NOT a confirmed reservation. A staff member will be in touch to discuss details of your visit and to confirm the reservation. If you do not hear back from a staff member within three business days of your submission, please contact us at reservations@fcmod.org.

Please tell us about who will be attending the museum with your group. The museum offers further field trip discounts to schools with 40% or greater Free & Reduced Lunch eligibility (as cited by the Colorado Department of Education or the Wyoming State Board of Education for the 2018-19 school year). Get your game on! Discover how innovation has shaped the video game industry in Game Changers, a special exhibition now open in the Woodward Special Exhibition Gallery at Fort Collins Museum of Discovery. Game Changers takes you on a fascinating journey, exploring the past and uncovering the future of gaming. In this exhibit, you’ll live the video game evolution, from memorable Pong to the photorealistic, immersive games of today. Try your hand at operating a supersized Nintendo controller, play Tetris on a giant Game Boy, test your knowledge of retro video game music, and so much more! We recommend this exhibition for 3rd grade and up. Check out our Game Changers Educator’s Guide to see different ways your class can engage with the exhibition!

The OtterBox Digital Dome Theater is a unique immersive learning space for students of all ages. New concepts and content come alive in this environment, and even familiar material can be experienced and understood in a whole new way. The Dome is a 39’ diameter, 360° digital theater where viewers are surrounded by high-resolution video and audio. The theater has 80 fixed seats and an ADA-accessible seating area. Learning Labs are hands-on, facilitated experiences, led by FCMoD educators. Ranging from scientific explorations, to dissections, to engineering challenges, we offer lots of ways for your students to engage in scientific and engineering methods in a fun and safe environment. Learning Labs are available on Tuesdays and Fridays from September through May. All labs are one hour in length.

Journey through time at the Heritage Courtyard. You’ll get tours of all four historic buildings: The Antoine Janis Cabin, The Auntie Stone Cabin, The Boxelder Schoolhouse, and The Franz-Smith Cabin. Each stop will give you a unique perspective of Fort Collins from before its foundation up to the 1920s! Our Heritage Courtyard program, Fort Collins through Time, is available for 2nd through 4th grade. Fort Collins through Time is 90 minutes in length. Fort Collins through Time is available on Thursdays during September through October and April through May. Please note that this program is offsite at the Heritage Courtyard, located at 200 Mathews Street, Fort Collins (approximately 1 mile from FCMoD). You may choose to visit the museum before or after your courtyard visit, however, museum admission is not required to participate in this program.

Lunch space is available at FCMoD! While there is no in-house catering, groups are welcome to bring sack lunches to eat onsite. Learning Lab rental for lunches is $15 per 30 minutes. Each Learning Lab can fit up to 36 seated students, and the two Labs can be opened up to accommodate up to 72 seated students at a time. Depending on the size of the group, lunch space may only be available on a rotational basis. FCMoD is also next door to Lee Martinez Park, which offers outside lunch option for groups. It is just a short walk into the park, which has covered picnic tables as well as a playground. Lunch space is available from September through May. We recommend booking lunch space as a back-up, even if your group is planning to eat outside. Please note that if you do not book a room in advance, the museum cannot guarantee indoor space for your group. Groups are not permitted to eat in the Museum Café or in the school group hallway.
