Museum Takeover: Dinosaurs
T-Rexes and Velociraptors and Allosauruses, oh my! Discover dinosaurs like never before with interactive activity stations throughout the gallery. The dinosaurs might be gone, but fun will never go extinct! 🦕
Museum Takeover is a monthly series where we deep dive into a particular subject with fun and educational activity stations in the exhibits gallery. Activities are open to all ages, but recommended for children 5 and older.
Museum Takeover activities are included with admission/membership.
- On-site parking is free, but limited. We recommend looking into parking options prior to arriving, such as free street parking on Cherry or one of the many nearby parking garages. Carpooling, biking, walking, tubing, or taking public transportation is also encouraged.
- All Museum Takeover: Dinosaur activities will take place from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. When you arrive at the museum, you’ll receive more information about what activities are taking place as well as where each activity is located. There is no official start to the activities and you are free to explore each ‘station’ of activities at your own pace in whatever order you would like.
- Photography will be taking place from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm.

One World, One Sky: Big Bird’s Adventure
Join Big Bird, Elmo and their friend, Hu Hu Zhu for a look at the stars. Take an imaginary trip to our Moon, learn how to find the Big Dipper and North Star, and see how we all share the same sky.

Dream to Fly
Since the beginning of history, people have dreamed of flying. Tales of mythical dragon flights thrilled ancient dreamers. Storytellers wove airy fantasies of magic carpet rides. Leonardo da Vinci stoked the dreams of flight with his fantastic drawings and through his eyes, we learned to look to nature for the secrets of flight. Dream To Fly is a poetic and touching story of aviation development through the ages. It presents the significant milestones on our route to conquering the skies – both in terms of technological breakthroughs, as well as our perceptions of flying itself.

Ferret Feeding Frenzy
Visit with the museum’s very own live black-footed ferrets – who knows, you might become BFFs with our BFFs! Join us every Saturday & Sunday in Natural Areas Exhibit Zone at 2:30pm to watch as our furry friends tear into their weekend meal. Not for the squeamish or faint of heart… you’ve been warned!
