Archives Month Tours at FCMoD
Happy American Archives Month! To celebrate, join the Archive & Collections staff at FCMoD for a special hour-long tour of some of our favorite local archival treasures. We’ll explore Fort Collins historic maps, yearbooks, photographs, newspapers, diaries, and more! Tours are free and fun for all ages. What will YOU discover?
Dates/Times (tour is the same on all dates):
- Saturday, October 14, 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
- Wednesday, October 18, 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
- Thursday, October 26, 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Tours meet in the Archive at Fort Collins Museum of Discovery, located just to the right when you enter the main lobby of the museum. Seating is available during the tour.
Please note: this program is free but limited to 20 participants per tour.

Black-footed Ferret Feeding
Visit with FCMoD’s very own live black-footed ferrets, the most endangered mammal in North America!
Join us in the Natural Areas Exhibit to learn about the conservation work being done to return black-footed ferrets to the wild, from the national captive breeding program to new advances in cloning. Meet our black-footed ferrets and watch as our furry friends tear into their weekend meal. Who knows, you just might become BFFs with our BFFs!
The presentation will start at about 10:15 a.m.
Museum admission is not required to attend this program, but the capacity is limited and first-come, first-served.
Meet the Animals
Join us in our Animal Encounters and discover some amazing creatures we share this planet with. Animals of all kinds from creepy crawlies, wet and slimy, to soft and furry. Don’t miss an opportunity to make a new animal friend! Free with museum admission.

Noches en Familia at the Museum (evento gratuito/free event)
Noches en Familia en el Museo (Abierto a todos, evento gratuito)
Viernes 1 de diciembre 5:00 PM a 7:00 PM
En colaboración con Poudre Libraries, visita con reconocidos artistas mexicanos Óscar Becerra Mora y Rubén Mica mientras comparten Alebrijes con nuestra comunidad. El evento incluirá una hora de cuentos guiada, seguida por comida y manualidades inspiradas por alebrijes.
Noches en Familia at the Museum (Free, no registration needed)
Friday December 1st 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
In partnership with Poudre Libraries, visit with renowned Mexican artists Óscar Becerra Mora and Rubén Mica as they share Alebrijes with our community. The event will include a guided storytime, followed by food and Alebrije-inspired crafts.

School Day Out @ FCMoD
We’ve got a great way to wrap up your holiday break! On Monday, January 8th, FCMoD will host another School Day Out at the Museum. With PSD still out of school for one last day, we’re offering a full day of museum-based activities and fun! The program runs 9am to 4pm and will be facilitated by our museum team professionals. Parents or guardians can drop kids off from 8:30am-9am and pickup is from 4pm-4:30pm. This program is designed for grades…
