Who knew, almost 150 years ago, that a little outpost on the Poudre River would become the Fort Collins we know today? Next year, Fort Collins will celebrate its 150th birthday, and we want to mark the occasion by asking YOU to help us tell the story! Now through September 1, the FC150 project will be accepting nominations for what makes Fort Collins Fort Collins. It could be a person, a thing, an invention, an organization, an idea, an innovation, an event. It could be little known, famous, or infamous, from before Fort Collins was a city to just yesterday. The story could be about a success or a failure or something whose outcome is still being decided. The only thing that matters is that it’s a story of Fort Collins. We have some ideas, but what are yours?
Collecting nominations from the community is just the start of the FC150 project — stories selected from the nominations we receive will be featured in an all-new exhibit which will open in time for Fort Collins’ 150th birthday in August, 2014. But we can’t do it without you! So we invite you to explore the FC150 website, and make some history of your own.
